Generally speaking, we are trying to find employment. The reason that why we work is we need money to live. Money is a necessity to provide for the basics of life. But then increasing sums of money do not increase our enjoyment of life, just our desire for more money. Here is a wise saying: People's rating of their own happiness does not increase as their income rises, because their appetite for products increases with their income.
