The Gestures of korea

As you can see, gestures is movements that communicate feelings or instruction. One of the most general feelings is greetings. The representitive gesture of Korea is to bow before the respectables. Not only that, but the person who was bowed by someone need to return a bow. I heven't seen foreigners' bow until now. I think most foreigners have special reasons about that. As it is, the actural grstures we use are different from country to country. Nevertheless, we should learn the gestures becasue observance of social custums is a common chracteristic of a civilized society.

Money can't buy happiness

Generally speaking, we are trying to find employment. The reason that why we work is we need money to live. Money is a necessity to provide for the basics of life. But then increasing sums of money do not increase our enjoyment of life, just our desire for more money.
Here is a wise saying: People's rating of their own happiness does not increase as their income rises, because their appetite for products increases with their income.

Chinese Superstitions

The number 8 is deeply relating to Chinese. They really like a number 8. For instance, the number of cellular phone consist of  the figure 8 have been sold with much more expensive price in China. Not only that, but the color that they fancy like the figure 8 is a red. That is why it means the symbol of sun, a pleasure and a happy event. Perhaps trusting of  the supersitions has no its effects, but I prefer to decide a number of uniform with a figure 8!

Conservation & Progress

As we have seen, there is a generation gap between old and young people. when I went to school, one generation meant 10 years. However, unlike the 1990s, nowadays people say that one generation's interval has diminishied quickly. Therefore, generation gap is big more and more!
For this reason, sometimes conservative people can conflict with pregressive people. According to the ages of my family members, my father and I had four decades between us. I recognize that interval of the gab can't easily narrow and it could be impossible.

Eyeless sight

I think eyeless sight is concerned about human's brain. In addition to the blind paint, wonderfulness can also happened in out world. This reflects scientists can't fully understand how our brain affects human's activity. In other words, we need to study the human's brain. As it is, Albert Einstein's brain was different from general people. Puttinf it succinctly, the human should recognize their limitations of knowledge.

Learning another language

As we have seen, there are many different ways people can learn a language. I think that I prefer a kinesthetic learners to visual & auditory learners. From my experence, a good way to learn English is by listening to talks. Aside from listening to talks, reading is important to learn English too. However, the thing that integrate listening and reading is to live native speaker. For this reason, physical activity learners can learn English very well. The methods that I have tried are to keep using English. For this reason, I took a STEP beyond winter camp.

Personal Spaces

West people are likely to see, whereas East people are likely to be!

According to the Ray's blog, he think that personal spaces are quite different from cultural differences. Then what are the biggest cultural differences between the east and west? Experiments in psychology have a indicated that the east have a outsider's prospective, whereas the west have a insider's prospective. In other words, west poeple are likely to see, but east people are likely to be. For instance, the east have  choices arleadly made or prepared. However the west have choosings individual.

Give Yourself Time

There isn't enough time in the day. We rush around from one thing to the next, not stopping until the day is over. One of the easiest things to cut out of the day to save time is a moment for ourselves. But time spent quietly alone is not a luxury. It is an important component of how we function. Give yourself time to sit, to feel, every single day.

Nearly half of Korean teens unhappy

Teenagers in Korea feel the least happy in 26 OECD countries and one of 10 thought of suicide at least once in the past year, according to two separate surveys released on the eve of Children's Day. A 2010 study by a Yonsei University research institute found only 53.9 percent of 5, 437 teenagers in Korea were satisfied with their life, the lowest level in the club of richest countries. This is 40.3 percent lower than in the Netherlands, where 94.2 percent of teenagers in the similar survey said they are happy. The OECD average, researched by the United Nation's Children's Emergency Fund, in 2006 was 84.8 percent.
Suicide was by far the leading cause of death among teenagers. Goverment research found that 13.5 out of every 100,000 people between the ages of 15 and 24 committed suicide in 2008. Traffic accidents and cancer came next with 9.2 and 3.7, respectively.

Education might not result in these facts but we should reconsider in mind about Korean teens. The happiness level among korean teenagers is extremely low. It is imperative we help them ease the stress they get from the university entrance exam.

President Roh Moo-Hyun

I sincerely admire President Roh Moo-Hyun. There are several reasons showed his policy goals. First, in order to promote balanced national development and diffusion of power, he planned the construction of a new administrative capital and nurtured regional colleges and univ.
Second, so as to build a firm foundation for peace on the Korean peninsular, he resolved the North Koreaa nuclear issue and developed  military confidence-building with North Korea. He also maintained multi-dimensional dialogue channels for a structure of peace.
Last but not least, he carried out educational reform and built a knowledge and culture-based society.

I'd like to meet you!

My name is Kim Chan-Hun and I am in mid-30s. I am average height and wear glasses. I majored in sport science when I was in college. I am single and have three siblings. I am outgoing person who has a positive attitude. I also have a good sence of humor. In my free time, I like to watch movies.
I live in Gwacheon, which is a residential city south of Seoul. It is very easy to get around in our city because public transportation is well-developed. However, the reason I like Gwacheon so much is that it's very peaceful and quiet.
The game I like to play the most is a basketball game. I came to like the game very much because I need to cooperate with team members to win. Also, it was a great way to bond with college freinds.
